geography
The village is located in a branch of the Hornonitrianska kotlina basin under the Žiar Mountains on the Handlovka River , five kilometers from Handlová and 11 kilometers from Prievidza .
The resort and ski resort of Remata, four kilometers south-east of the main town, belongs to the municipality.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1430 as Rozkochna and belonged to the estate of Weinitz Castle , but the church already existed in the 13th century. In the Middle Ages, Ráztočno was the location of a toll station on a trade route. In the 16th century it was the largest settlement in the Handlovka Valley. Agriculture and forestry (2 water mills) and some handicrafts were among the most important branches of the economy. In 1614 a large part of the village fell victim to a fire.
After the Second World War, the character of the place changed, with a new cultural center, shopping center, library, post office and a mourning house.
