The Handlovka is a 30.5 km long river in Slovakia .
It rises in the Vogelgebirge (Vtáčnik in Slovak) below the Biela skala mountain ( 1135 m nm ) and after two kilometers of flowing east it reaches the Handlovský rybník pond near the town of Handlová and the Hornonitrianska kotlina basin . There the river turns to the north and runs mostly covered in the city. In Ráztočno the direction changes to the west and now flows through places like Jalovec , Chrenovec-Brusno and Veľká Čausa before reaching the town of Prievidza . In the last part, the Handlovka flows to the southwest and, after a few kilometers of parallel stretch , flows into the Nitra as a left bank tributary in the area between Koš , Opatovce nad Nitrou and Laskár , a district of Nováky .
