Sebedražie (German Seven Andreas , Hungarian Szebed - until 1907 Szebedrázs ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia , with a population of 1,723 (as of December 31, 2019) and is located in prievidza district , which the Trenčín Region belongs.
geography
The community is located within the basin Hornonitrianska kotlina at the foot of the bird mountains (Vtáčnik). The Cigľanka brook flows through the village and flows further downstream into the Handlovka , shortly before the confluence with the Nitra . The center of the village is five kilometers from Prievidza .
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1245 as Scepredas .
Traditionally agriculture was the main occupation, nowadays the majority work in the lignite mine Cigeľ (since 1962) east of the village or in the town of Prievidza.
