Knut Radbruch

Knut Radbruch (born January 7, 1936 in Hamburg ) is a German mathematician and was professor of mathematics and its didactics at the University of Kaiserslautern from 1971 to 2001 .

Radbruch studied mathematics, physics , philosophy and education in Hamburg, Erlangen and Heidelberg from 1954 to 1959 . He completed his studies with the first state examination. After that he was from 1960 to 1970 with a break from 1964 to 1966, which he spent in higher education in Hamburg, at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Tübingen . At first he held a position as a research assistant until 1964, and from 1966 to 1970 he was an academic advisor . During his time in Tübingen, Radbruch passed the second state examination in 1965. On January 1, 1971, he took up his position as a professor at the University of Kaiserslautern.

Radbruch's interest is primarily in the relationship between mathematics and the humanities and the philosophy of mathematics.
