Knut Walf

Knut Walf (born December 9, 1936 in Berlin-Dahlem ) is a German Catholic theologian and canon lawyer .

Life

Walf graduated from the Görres-Gymnasium Koblenz. He studied philosophy , theology , law and canon law at the universities of Munich and Freiburg in Üechtland . The doctorate followed in 1965 and the habilitation in 1971 , both in Munich. From 1972 to 1977 Walf was a university professor for canon law and state church law at the University of Munich. From 1977 to 2002 he was Professor of Canon Law at the University of Nijmegen . He was visiting lecturer in Freiburg im Üechtland, Saarbrücken and Washington, DC From 1978 to 1996 Walf was a member of the board of directors of the international journal for theology Concilium and from 1986 to 2009 a permanent member of the journal Orientation (Zurich).
