Werner Post
Werner Post (born January 28, 1940 in Balve im Sauerland; † May 6, 2018 in Bonn ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian and philosopher . He was best known for his studies on Karl Marx .
Life
After graduating from high school in 1959 at the Humanist Walram High School in Menden and the study of philosophy , theology and social sciences 1959-1968 in Paderborn, Frankfurt (hospitable example) and most recently in Munich, he was there in 1968 when Karl Rahner to Dr. phil. PhD. In the same year he went to the Pädagogische Hochschule Rheinland in Bonn, where he became a scientific assistant and lecturer in philosophy. After completing his habilitation in 1976 ( Venia legendi for philosophy), he became professor of philosophy at the Faculty of Education at the University of Bonn in 1986 , and then from 1987 at the University of Dortmund . On February 1, 2007, he retired. Werner Post died on May 6, 2018 in Bonn, one day after Karl Marx's 200th birthday.
The technical focus of Werner Post's work was practical philosophy (legal and social philosophy, critical theory , religious philosophy , aesthetics ). His work, What is materialism , written with Alfred Schmidt ? has been translated into several languages.
