Life

Very little is known about his life. He is said to have been from the Teke Turkmen tribe and taught the mystical doctrine of enlightenment to Oghus tribes . Legend has it that he was fond of Aries fighting. He owes his name, which means "Father Aries", to his unbeatable Aries. Shortly after Koçkar Ata's death, his ram is said to have died of mourning and was buried with him. In fact, there is a ram bust on the tomb of Koçkar Ata, with the inscription "ya Allah, ya Muhammed, ya Ali" (invocation formula "O God , O Mohammed , O Ali ") written on it in the Arabic alphabet . Tribal names such as " Koçgiri " or "Köşkerler" were later named after him and come from him.
