Koalas desperados
The Koalas Desperados is an artist collective around the DJ and producer Manar El-Abed from Montpellier . The collective currently (2011) consists of around 17 musicians and 17 singers from 14 nations.
In the summer of 2010, the Koalas Desperados visited Germany to perform concerts in Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt and to present the album of the same name by the artist collective Live.
history
The idea for the "Koalas Desperados" goes back to the DJ and producer Manar El-Abed from Montpellier. He had been thinking for a long time to produce a so-called omnibus record in order to invite guests and friends from all over the world and to feature them. In 2009 he met the German reggae producer Thilo "Teka" Jacks in Montpellier, whom he knew from his time in Frankfurt am Main. The two started the collective, which today consists of around 17 musicians and 17 singers from 14 nations.

From Germany, Nosliw , Maxim , the Swedish-Ugandan singer Jaqee and the Spanish-born singer Laura Lopez Castro from Stuttgart, the Frankfurt Ragga-MC D-Flame and the Argentine-born Paco Mendoza (alias Nils Leske) took part.
In Montpellier, Manar brought the rapper Lhabanero, the reggae musician Yannick Owona from Cameroon and the chanson band Chozparei into the cast, Dani Macaco from Barcelona and the singer Nubla and the reggae MC Bezegol from Porto in Portugal.
style
In line with the broad cast, the stylistic spectrum of the songs is also broad: Latin styles meet reggae grooves, Portuguese fado mixes with cluttering club electronics and Afrobeat from West Africa. Koala Desperados sing in several languages, from English to Spanish and Portuguese to German.
