Kobscheid is a district of Roth near Prüm in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate .
It lies at 580 m above sea level. NHN and is characterized by agriculture.
The place was first mentioned in 1642 as a copschied . The part of the name "Cop-" ("Kuppe") refers to the hillside location of the place. In 1880 the place separated from the community of Roth and became an independent community. In the course of the administrative reform, this separation was abolished and Kobscheid was again incorporated into Roth on January 1, 1971 with 92 inhabitants. During the Battle of the Bulge Kobscheid was the scene of fierce fighting between German and American armed forces. In 1947 a major fire destroyed several houses and the Kobscheid chapel .
