Cook with! Oliver is an Austrian cooking show that was first broadcast on July 5, 2008. Since August 2008 this has been broadcast weekly on Saturday afternoons, then on Saturday in the evening before. In the meantime, the new episode is always broadcast on Sunday at 6:10 p.m. on pulse 4. While on Sixx , ProSieben Austria , ATV and Sat.1 Gold repeats are running. It is moderated by Oliver Hoffinger . The program differs from other classic cooking programs. The fourth wall is repeatedly broken through the texts of the editorial team spoken by Joe Baumgartner . Since 2013, Fabian J. Holzer has been responsible for the Koch program! Oliver. Fabian J. Holzer sometimes appears as Oliver Hoffinger's co- moderator . The program was canceled in December 2018, the last newly produced episode was broadcast on December 16, 2018 on Puls 4.
Oliver's cooking duel
Oliver Hoffinger competes against other chefs in “Oliver's Cooking Duel”. If his opponent is another well-known chef, then both candidates do not know what more or less insane task they will be confronted with. In addition, both cook against time.
Should Oliver compete against a non-cook, the whole thing will be made more difficult for him: On the one hand, Oliver's opponent knows what should be cooked, on the other hand, Oliver is given a handicap. That could mean that Oliver is only allowed to work with one hand, only gets a butter knife for cutting or he is not allowed to taste his food while it is being prepared.
The 7-minute dishes
Oliver Hoffinger has to be able to get three dishes ready in just 7 minutes each in real time.
Broadcast (old headings)
In addition to the preparation of various dishes, the moderator gives advice on the respective topic in the sections “Oliver's Restltipp”, “Oliver's Wine Tip”, “Oliver's Cooking Tool” and “Oliver's Cooking Tunes”. At irregular intervals, Oliver also cooks his “luxury economy menu”, which is supposed to make it easy to cook at a low price. In some programs, Oliver discusses the origin and value of different dishes and their ingredients with organic farmers, cooks, scientists etc.
Oliver's tips
In the Oliver Remnant Tip category, Hoffinger gives advice on how to process leftover dishes and desserts, and Oliver explains how to store a “remnant” correctly in order to keep it longer. With the wine tip, Oliver or a sommelier alternately explains which wines and spirits go well with the respective dish; in the first few episodes, only Oliver himself took on this task.
Oliver's assistant
Under the motto “Top chef is looking for an apprentice”, the station Puls 4 organized a casting as part of the cooking show with the aim of finding an apprentice for the program, who will be supported by Oliver. The winner was Jeannine Mik, who is a voice trainer and performer. As she emphasized in the program, she attaches particular importance to healthy nutrition. She was born on September 23, 1988 in Vienna.
