Oliver Hoffinger

Oliver Hoffinger (born October 30, 1970 in Vienna ) is an Austrian television chef. He became a chef on the television show ! Oliver known, which ran on Sat.1 Austria from 2008 and then switched to Puls 4 .

Life

After completing his apprenticeship, Oliver Hoffinger joined the first kitchen team at Do & Co in the Haashaus in Vienna. Then, as the youngest sous-chef in Europe, he cooked three toques according to Gault-Millau in the Vincent restaurant . This was followed by positions with Wolfgang Puck in Los Angeles and Jean-Georges Vongerichten in New York.

In 1999 he opened his own restaurant, the Kochwerkstatt am Spittelberg in Vienna, and immediately received two toques again. In 2006 the restaurant was officially closed and after a short interlude in the Gaumenspiel restaurant he left the catering trade.

After his wedding, also in 2006, he concentrated on the family, he is the father of a daughter (2008) and a son (2012), the writing of cookbooks and, since 2008, the show Koch mit! Oliver .

In September 2010, he announced that he had testicular cancer. As a man who is in public, he sees it as his task to draw attention to the medical check-up for men. He also shot a spot for Austrian Cancer Aid .
