Carbon oxides

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The group of carbon oxides includes the following chemical compounds :

According to the IUPAC definition, these compounds, which are exclusively of carbon and oxygen are constructed as oxocarbons ( English oxocarbons ), respectively.

In the German-speaking world, however, the term oxocarbons is used for all cyclic compounds of interconnected carbonyl groups , which can also be hydrated . He was coined by Robert West .
