Koil , formerly also called Keul or Deblois Island , is a small island in the South Pacific island state of Papua New Guinea ( East Sepik Province ).
Koil is about 15 km southeast of Vokeo Island . In contrast to this, Koil is barely 90 meters high at the highest point. The coral island is one of the Le Maire Islands , which were discovered in 1616 by the Dutch Schouten and Le Maire .
In 2000 there were 721 people living on Koil in two villages on the west coast of the island facing the mainland (Waur with 533 and Tob with 188 inhabitants).
