Kōken Katō ( Japanese 加藤 弘 堅 , Katō Kōken ; born April 3, 1989 in Chiba , Chiba Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Kōken Katō learned to play football on the school team at Funabashi Municipal High School . He signed his first professional contract in 2008 with Kyōto Sanga . The club from Kyōto , a city in the southwest of the Japanese main island Honshū , played in the highest league, the J1 League . At the end of 2011, he had to relegate to the second division with the club. In the relegation season he was with the club in the final of the Emperor's Cup . In the final they lost 4-2 against FC Tokyo . In 2012 he moved to Kataller Toyama for one season . With the club from Toyama he played 31 times in the second division, the J2 League . In 2013 he signed a two-year contract with league competitor Thespakusatsu Gunma in Kusatsu . For Gunma he completed 72 second division games. In 2015 he moved to Kitakyūshū to Giravanz Kitakyūshū, who was also playing in the second division . In 2016 he had to start the path to the third division with the club. In 2019 he was with the club champion of the third division and rose again to the second division.
