Kole Čašule
Kole Čašule ( Macedonian Коле Чашуле ; born March 2, 1921 in Prilep , † September 22, 2009 in Skopje ) was a Yugoslav or Macedonian writer, politician and diplomat.
Life
He attended high schools in Prilep and Bitola and began studying medicine in Belgrade , which he dropped out when the Second World War reached Yugoslavia in 1941. He joined the Communist Party of Yugoslavia, was arrested after his involvement in an attack on a police station and later freed by partisans . He has been writing plays, novels and short stories since the 1940s. He was director of Radio Skopje (1946–1947), director of the acting department at the Macedonian National Theater (1947–1950), director of the film company Vardar-Film and editor of several magazines; In 1956 he became Macedonian Minister of Culture. His work as a diplomat included, among other things, the dispatch as Yugoslav ambassador to Bolivia (1962–1965), Brazil and Peru .
He was an honorary member of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts and received numerous awards.
