This Kollafjörður is a fjord in the southwest of Iceland .
The Kollafjörður is located between the Icelandic capital Reykjavík and its local mountain Esja . It forms the southeastern arm of the Faxaflói . Adjacent fjords are the Hvalfjörður in the north and the Skerjafjörður in the south. The largest island in the fjord is Viðey with about 1.7 square kilometers. The island of Lundey , also in the fjord, is uninhabited; other islands in the fjord are Akurey , Engey and Þerney . The municipalities of Reykjavíkurborg , Mosfellsbær and Seltjarnarnes are located by the fjord .
