Kolo (magazine)

Kolo (The Round Dance) is a Croatian- language literary magazine published by Matica hrvatska . It has been published continuously since 1842.

The magazine was initiated by Croatian writers Stanko Vraz , Ljudevit Vukotinović and Dragutin Rakovac, who are members of the Illyrian Movement , in order to establish more aesthetic and critical criteria and to keep the magazine at the level of contemporary European literary magazines. Over the course of history, the newspaper has been published differently - both monthly and annually. It has been published monthly since 1991.

Many prominent Croatian writers were editors of this magazine, including Joža Horvat, Slavko Kolar , Gustav Krklec , Vjekoslav Kaleb , Vlatko Pavletić, Igor Zidić, Vlaho Bogišić and others. The more prominent members of the editorial team include Dragutin Tadijanović , Miroslav Brandt, Tomislav Ladan, and Ivan Supek.
