Colonial Memorial Coin

The colonial commemorative coin was donated by Kaiser Wilhelm II on June 13, 1912 and could be awarded to all people who took part in military operations in the German colonies . The annexes to the implementation regulations contain a list of the battles, "punitive expeditions", campaigns and subjugations recognized for the award. These were 77 for German East Africa (1889–1907), seven for German South West Africa (1893–1904) and 101 for Cameroon (1891–1909). Exceptions were participants in the armed conflicts in East Asia 1900/01 (" Boxer Rebellion ") and Southwest Africa in the years 1904/08 ( war against the Herero and Nama ).

The bronze medal shows the right-facing bust of Wilhelm II in uniform. On the right the crowned initials W II (Wilhelm II). On the back right an oak leaf - and left a laurel branch . In the middle of the imperial crown towers above the inscription THE BRAVE WARRIORS FOR GERMANY'S HONOR .
