Columbus (family)
The family of Christopher Columbus can be traced - under the names Colombo ( Italian and Portuguese ) and Colon ( Spanish ) - from 1421 until today. Until 1578 the list of tribe was as follows:

About the origin of Columbus:
- On October 31, 1470 Domenico Colombo borrowed money from Gerolamo del Porto in Genoa; Cristoforus filius , who was over 19 years old at the time, was also responsible for this trade .
- The will of Christopher Columbus stipulates that the heirs of a Gerolamo del Porto from Genoa are still entitled to 20 ducats.
