The Communist Party ( ndl .: Kommunistische Partij, KP) was a political party in the Flemish part of Belgium . It emerged in 1989 alongside the Walloon Parti Communiste from a split from the Communist Party of Belgium . The national secretary was Jaak Perquy.

The Communist Party published the Agora newspaper.

In December 2009, the KP ceased its activity as a party and has since considered itself a think tank . The remaining CP members have since been organized in the bilingual Brussels section of the Parti Communiste , which in this way has in fact become a unitary party again.

Until the end of 2013, the Communist Party continued to be a member of the European Left .
