The complement receptor 1 (synonymous CD35 ) is a surface protein from the complement system .

properties

The complement receptor 1 binds immune complexes with bound complement C3b or C4b and is thus involved in the innate immune response . Furthermore, it is the receptor for the cell entry of the Epstein-Barr virus . The complement receptor 1 is formed by erythrocytes , leukocytes , podocytes and follicular dendritic cells of the spleen. It is glycosylated and contains a pyrrolidone carboxylic acid .
