The Konkola Stadium is a stadium in the city nordsambischen Chililabombwe . It seats around 17,000 spectators and is mainly used for soccer games. It is the home stadium of the first division club Konkola Blades .
Apart from the Independence Stadium in the capital Lusaka, the stadium is the only one that meets FIFA's requirements for international stadiums. On June 2, 2007, following an Africa Cup qualifier, there was a mass panic in which twelve people died. In May 2008, after renovations by FIFA, the stadium was reopened for further international matches. Since the Independence Stadium has been under renovation for a long time, the Zambian national team would otherwise have been forced to play their home games in the 2010 World Cup abroad.
