The Konrad-Adenauer-Hauptschule Wipperfürth is one of four secondary schools in Wipperfürth , Oberbergischer Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The school is located in the school center on the Mühlenberg.

The school is currently attended by 665 students. These are taught in 29 classes by 56 teachers. There has been a partnership with the “Gymnasium 96” in Chelyabinsk , a city in the Urals , Russia since 1995 , which has been supported for several years together with the St. Angela Gymnasium . The specialty of the school is the epoch lessons. Here z. B. in grades 5 to 7 the subjects German, history / politics and geography are not taught as usual (4.2.2 hours per week), but in blocks of two to three weeks in a row. The "eFit" project, an e-learning project in German, has been tested in grades 5 and 6 for a year. The school is run by the rector Ulrike Disselbeck. A development association provides financial support.

Mother tongue lessons

At the secondary school, mother tongue lessons are given in Turkish , Italian and Spanish .

Awards

In May 2003 the school was awarded the 1st prize in the competition Quality in School Work - New Ways of Learning in the Secondary Schools Area. The prize was endowed with 2000 euros. School and Youth Minister Ute Schäfer presented the award . The competition was announced by the State Institute for Schools in Soest , the LIG (Learning in the Information Society) in Düsseldorf and the Ministry for Schools, Youth and Children. In April 2007, Minister Sommer awarded the school the "Individual Support Seal of Approval". The Konrad-Adenauer-Hauptschule is one of the few secondary schools in North Rhine-Westphalia to receive this award.
