Konrad Czapiewski (born June 25, 1913 in Bottrop , † January 11, 1979 ) was a German politician ( SPD , FDP ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school, Czapiewski completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith and then worked in this profession. He was a union member, from 1928 to 1931 a member of the German Metal Workers' Association (DMV) and from 1946 to 1951 a member of the ÖTV . In the 1950s he served as the state chairman of the Free German Workers' Association in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Political party

Czapiewski was a member of the Socialist Workers' Youth from 1925 to 1928 and a member of the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold from 1928 to 1933 . He joined the SPD in 1945, switched to the FDP on September 26, 1951, and was the party's district association chairman from 1952 to 1956. He was also a board member of the FDP district association Ruhr.

Czapiewski was a city ​​councilor in Lünen from 1948 to 1956 and chairman of the CDU / FDP / BHE parliamentary group there from 1952 to 1956 . He was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament from 1950 to 1962 and from August 9, 1962, when he replaced the resigned MP Hermann Kohlhase , until 1966. In the second electoral term he represented the constituency of Dortmund IV - Lünen in parliament .
