Konrad Fuß (born November 4, 1893 , † April 8, 1945 in Blankenhain ) was mayor of the small town of Blankenhain, which fell victim to a final phase crime of World War II .

Konrad Fuß was born on November 4, 1893. During the Nazi regime , he was mayor of the small town of Blankenhain. When the US troops wanted to take the place on April 8, 1945, he hoisted the white flag as a sign of readiness to hand it over to the liberators without a fight. He was shot in the process. His grave is in the old cemetery of Blankenhain. It is a listed building .

Honor

During the GDR era, one street was named "Konrad-Fuß-Strasse". After 1990, the road was deedicated.
