Konrad Maria Engel

Konrad Maria Engel (* 1977 in Lich ) is a German pianist and music teacher .

Live and act

Konrad Maria Engel is the son of an X-ray technician and a math and physics teacher and grew up in Echzell, Hesse . He began his musical training a. a. with Bernhard Wetz in Frankfurt am Main . He studied piano and music education as a master class student with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling at the Hanover Music Academy and passed his concert exam in 2006 . He was u. a. Scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation and winner of international competitions.

In addition to his solo activity, he also worked as a chamber musician and accompanist , also at international festivals. Guest appearances have taken him to Europe, the USA, Japan and China.

Engel taught from 1999 to 2009 at the CJD school Schlaffhorst-Andersen Bad Nenndorf and then at the music school of the state capital Hanover . From 2011 to 2015 he was a lecturer at the University of the Arts Bremen and since 2012 he has held a substitute professorship at the Hanover University of Music. Since 2017 he has been professor of piano at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin and also heads the piano department at the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Music High School .
