Konrad Schubert (soccer player)

Heinz Konrad Schubert (born June 27, 1927 in Lauter / Sa .; † May 2, 2017 ) was a German football player in Saxony . In the 1950s he played in the GDR league for Empor Lauter .

Athletic career

After returning from military service in World War II, Schubert played from 1947 as a defender for SG Lauter football. With his team he won the Erzgebirgspokal in 1949 with a 5-0 victory over Wismut Aue . In 1950 he was with the SG Westsachsenmeister and was in the squad of the team that was subject to SG Dresden-Mickten in the playoffs for the Saxony Championship, but also made it second to qualify for the new second-rate DS league . In the DS-Liga, Schubert, referred to by the fans as "Sense", was used in 31 of 40 games by Lauter, since May 1951 under different sponsorship as BSG Empor Lauter , between 1950 and 1952. As the winner of the DS league season 1951/52, Empor Lauter rose to the league. There Schubert still belonged to the extended tribe of the team until it was relocated to Rostock in October 1954. Schubert stayed different from many in the Ore Mountains . He joined the football team in Bernsbach , which was then playing in the district league. He later returned to Lauter, to the newly founded BSG Motor Lauter, with which he rose to the district league in 1959. After finishing his active career, he coached the first team in his hometown for several years from 1962.
