Konrad Weiß (theologian)

Konrad Weiß (born July 24, 1907 in Wüstewaltersdorf ; † September 27, 1979 in Rostock ) was a German theologian and university professor .

Life

Weiß passed his Abitur and studied Protestant theology , with a special interest in church history . His dissertation dealt with the reception of the theology of the New Testament by the mystic Meister Eckhart . He became a licentiate in theology doctorate , to habilitation he successfully in Berlin . Weiss joined the ethnic and anti-Semitic ideas of the German Christians , and in 1939 he declared his collaboration with the Institute for Research and Elimination of the Jewish Influence on German Church Life .

Services

In 1946, Weiß became associate professor for New Testament theology at the University of Rostock , where he was appointed to a full professorship in 1948 and retired in 1972.

The University of Kiel awarded Weiß with an honorary doctorate in 1961 .
