Konrad Winterstein

Konrad "Conny" Winterstein (born July 17, 1927 ) is a former player who played a total of 265 league games for the clubs 1. FC Nürnberg and Jahn Regensburg from 1945 to 1956 and scored 101 goals in what was then the first-class South Football League . In 1948 , the offensive player won the German soccer championship with the "Club" with a 2-1 win against 1. FC Kaiserslautern . In the final round of the German soccer championship in 1948, 1951 and 1952, the fast left winger scored 15 goals for Nuremberg with a hard shot in 14 games.

"Conny" Winterstein, who came to 1. FC Nürnberg from Wacker Nürnberg, was a trained car mechanic and later a full-time police officer. From 1945 to 1955 he was a player in the squad of Nuremberg and brought it in his 10-year activity for 1. FCN to 244 league games where he scored 96 goals. Overall, the striker is listed in the statistics for Nuremberg with 409 games. The attacker celebrated the first championship in the Oberliga Süd after the 1946/47 season , when Nuremberg won the championship in southern Germany with a 13 point lead over runner-up SV Waldhof. In defending his title in 1947/48 , he contributed 13 goals in 35 league games alongside Max Morlock . In his third title win in the south, 1950/51 , the left winger had played all 34 rounds and scored 20 goals.

In the final of the German championship on August 8, 1948, Winterstein scored the 1-0 lead against 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the 10th minute .

Winterstein ended his career after the 1955/56 season with Jahn Regensburg, where he again scored five goals in 21 league appearances. The man from Nuremberg made his debut at Jahn on the left wing on August 27, 1955 in a 3-0 home win against Schwaben Augsburg - center forward Josef Hubeny was a three-time goalscorer. The Franconian played his last league game on April 1, 1956 in a 1-0 home win against BC Augsburg.

After his return to Nuremberg, he still held the post of player-coach in Adelsdorf and Langenzenn.
