Konstantinos Demertzis
Konstantinos Demertzis ( Greek Κωνσταντίνος Δεμερτζής; * 1876 in Athens ; † April 12, 1936 ibid) was a Greek politician and Prime Minister .
Demertzis studied law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1928 he was appointed professor of family law at the Law Faculty of the University of Athens.
He began his political career in 1910 when he was elected member of the National Assembly (Voulí ton Ellínon) . In 1924 he founded the United Progressive Party (EPK).
On November 30, 1935 he became Prime Minister. He held this office until his death from a heart attack on April 12, 1936. During his tenure, he was Foreign Minister and at times also Minister of War and the Navy.
