Panorios studied painting in Athens. He later continued his studies in Munich at the Academy of Fine Arts . In 1891 he returned to Greece. At this point he was already suffering from severe mental illness. Heavily drawn, he initially withdrew to the village of Kastros on his home island of Sifnos. Then he went to Corfu, where he died in 1892.

Panorios was a painter of the so-called Munich School of Greek Painting. His works, especially the full-body portraits, are characterized by their high expressiveness and sensitivity.
