Constance puppet theater

The Konstanzer Puppenbühne is a puppet theater under the direction of Irmi Wette from Konstanz . The theater is a member of the Association of German Puppet Theaters (VDP).

History and game program

The pedagogue Irmi Wette founded the puppet stage in 1998. The repertoire includes stories with well-known characters such as Punch and Judy , magicians , witches and robbers .

The preventive play against sexual violence “Paws away! Make children strong! ”Was created in 2002 in cooperation with the Constance police and has been performed in cooperation with the White Ring since 2003 . At the end of October 2017, the play had 52,000 viewers. In the same month the city of Konstanz declared that they did not consider the play to be of educational value.

The piece “You started! - No, you! “Is a violence preventive puppet theater piece . There are also pieces for language education and dental prophylaxis. One environmental educational piece bears the name “Staunbaum”.

Another project is "Hansel and Gretel". Irmi's great uncle Engelbert Humperdinck wrote the opera of the same name ; the libretto came from her great-grandmother Adelheid Wette .

In the spring of 2019, Irmi Wette moved to Schleswig-Holstein with her puppet stage, since then it has been called “Figurine Magic”.
