Constructive criticism (band)

Constructive criticism was a German hip-hop act from the 1990s, which consisted of the MCs "Splinter" (Stephen Noll), "Sloty" (Thomas Lesciorz) and "Stress" ( Marcel Saibert ).

The band members come from Düsseldorf , but moved in the Cologne hip-hop scene. In order to save the endangered medium of the vinyl record, the band took part in the 1994 project "Protect the Rille" alongside well-known hip-hop greats such as Grandmaster Flash .

The album "Kühl" produced by iGadget is considered an important contribution to German rap and became known to a larger audience through the single "Zwei Cities am Rhein", which was created in collaboration with the Cologne rapper " Tatwaffe ". The single is considered the first trilingual rap song in German hip-hop history (German / English / Polish). The surreal album design of "Kühl" was created by the artist Johanna Noll-Hauck. The group was in on 2 October 1995 VIVA telecast Freestyle presented with music video, interview and live performance.

Both Stephen Noll and Thomas Lesciorz were also members of the hip-hop group Fresh Familee .

MC Sloty has been operating under the name "Jim Dunloop" since 2001 and has released several vinyl records such as "Point Blank" and "Stamp out Reality" with Marc Hype on the label "Melting Pot Music".
