Konvict Muzik is an American music label from Atlanta . It was founded in 2005 by Melvin Brown and R&B singer Akon as a subsidiary of the Universal Music Group .
The label releases records from the fields of hip-hop , contemporary R&B and reggae . In 2008 Konvict Muzik opened its first European branch in London.
