Kõo [ kɤo ] (German: Wolmarshof ) is a rural community in the Estonian district of Viljandi with an area of ​​149.5 km². It has 1159 inhabitants (2011).

Kõo is in the north of the county. The municipality is located 38 km from Viljandi and 143 km from Tallinn . In addition to the main town of Kõo (377 inhabitants), the rural community includes the villages of Arjassaare, Arussaare, Kangrussaare, Kirivere, Koksvere, Loopre, Maalasti, Paaksima, Paenasti, Pilistvere , Saviaugu, Soomevere, Unakvere and Venevere.

The construction of St. Andrew's Church in Pilistvere began in 1222. It has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. In 1687 the 2nd Bible Conference took place there, which represents a milestone in the Estonian language and cultural history. The co-founder of the Estonian state, Jüri Vilms , is buried in the Pilistvere cemetery, whose tomb remained undamaged during the Soviet occupation of Estonia.
