Coupling (technology)
“ Coupling is the name for a gear link that couples moving gear links or groups of links with one another. A paddock has no direct connection to the frame . It is characteristic of coupling gears . ”In a four-link coupling gear, it is the link that connects the drive and output links.
A common coupling is the connecting rod in a piston engine .
In the wheel suspension of automobiles , the wheel carrier takes the place of the coupling (even in more than four-link transmissions).
In some applications (mainly in construction ) the term pendulum rod is used instead of coupling .
