The Koppelstrom is a larger bay in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is located on the Darß-Zingster Bodden chain between Saaler Bodden and Bodstedter Bodden south of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula . It is up to 1.8 kilometers wide and about four kilometers long. The coupling current is limited by the Borner Bülten archipelago in the west and the Jägerbülten island in the east. On the north side is the Born a. Darß by the bay. In the south is the municipality of Fuhlendorf . From here the Rhedeort peninsula protrudes into the water and divides the coupling stream into two almost equal parts.

The water in the coupling stream is slightly salty (1–3 per thousand ).
