The location of the Bodstedter Bodden

The Bodstedter Bodden is part of the Darß-Zingster Bodden chain and the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park . It is located south of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula on the coast of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The reed-lined shoreline, rich in bays , is scenic, so that the locations near the shore are popular tourist destinations.

The Borner Bülten ( Bulte , small marshy reed islands) form the western border of the Bodden to the Koppelstrom . The coupling current forms the transition to the Saaler Bodden . In the east, the Meiningen strait forms the transition to the Barther Bodden and Zingster Strom . In the south of the Bodden is the Redensee with the place Fuhlendorf . In the northeast, the Prerower Strom , the former access to the sea, flows into the Bodden. The deepest point of the Bodden at ten meters is just before the Meininger Bülten , the small reed islands on Meiningen . The rest of the bay is rarely deeper than three meters.
