Korinos ( Greek Κορινός ( f. Sg. )) Is a small town in Greece .

The city is located in the Pieria regional district of the Greek administrative region of Central Macedonia .

It has around 4,000 inhabitants.

history

Korinos has been an independent rural community (kinotita) since 1928, and in 1997 Korinos became a township through the incorporation of several neighboring communities. With the administrative reform of 2010 , Korinos was incorporated into the municipality of Katerini , where it has since formed one of six municipal districts.

traffic

The Highway 1 , the Athens and Thessaloniki in the south connects the north, leading to the west by the town over.

Korinos is also on the Piraeus – Thessaloniki railway line with a train station .
