The Kosatec Computer GmbH is a German IT distributor with headquarters in Braunschweig . The product portfolio includes 10,000 items from the areas of computer hardware and software, notebooks, tablets, mobile computing, services and accessories.

As a full-range supplier, Kosatec supplies commercial customers across Europe with IT components. Customers include retail stores, online and mail order companies, small and medium business customers, system houses, public clients, medium-sized companies and industry.

The central warehouse, sales, service competence center, administration and the "Kosatec Factory Outlet Store" are located in the Braunschweig headquarters on approx. 10,500 m². Kosatec operates further sales offices in Cologne, Aachen, Linden, Kassel, Passau, Unna, Hamburg and Karlsruhe.

history

The company was founded in 1993 in a garage in a suburb of Braunschweig by Andreas Sander. The start-up capital for what was then Kosatec GbR was DM 6,000. In 1994, the company moved into larger premises in the Querumer Forst industrial estate. In 2008, the company moved to its current headquarters in the Hansestraße industrial park, in a former factory building of the washing machine manufacturer Miele.

From 1999 to 2011 Kosatec operated retail outlets (Kosatec City, Kosatec Campus, Kosatec Schloss-Arkaden, Kosatec Wolfsburg) in the Braunschweig / Wolfsburg region, which sold products directly to end customers.

From 1998 to 2018 Kosatec ran a system house that supported regional corporate customers in setting up and operating computer networks.

In 2013 the entrepreneur Siegbert Wortmann ( Wortmann AG ) took a 49% stake in Kosatec. A year later, the competitor B.com was taken over and the former sales offices in Cologne and Giessen were transferred to Kosatec Computer GmbH.

On June 9, 2018 Kosatec celebrated its 25th company anniversary with 750 invited customers, suppliers and friends from the region. Braunschweig’s Lord Mayor Ulrich Markurth and Braunschweig’s IHK President Helmut Streiff were guests .

Own brands

Kosatec sells series PCs, build-to-order PCs and servers under the “Innovation PC” brand. Cable and accessory products as well as storage devices ( RAM , SSDs , etc.) are marketed under the name “Innovation IT” .
