Koti pizza
Kotipizza is the largest Pizza - restaurant chain in Scandinavia and was founded in 1987 by Rabbe Grönblom. In the summer of 2009, Kotipizza introduced over 250 restaurants in over 130 communities. Some of the restaurants are run jointly with car repair shops; the northernmost restaurant is in Karigasniemi in the municipality of Utsjoki . The retail chain's profit in 2008 was 64.9 million euros . Over 95% of Kotipizza restaurants in Finland are franchised . Outside of Finland there are Kotipizza restaurants in Saint Petersburg , Estonia and Suzhou ( China ), among others . Kotipizza was voted the best franchise company in 1992 and 2009. The motto of Kotipizza is "Pizza, Love & Understanding". Some restaurants also deliver free of charge.
Pizza Berlusconi
Kotipizza called a pizza with smoked reindeer pizza Berlusconi .
With the pizza, Kotipizza won the America's Plate International pizza competition in New York in March 2008 , beating the Italian team, which took second place.
Kotipizza named the pizza in an advertising campaign after the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi . Kotipizza is thus making a joke of Berlusconi's statements about Finnish cuisine in the summer of 2005. Berlusconi stated that he had to “endure” Finnish food. He also started comparing Finnish and Italian cuisine and made derogatory remarks about smoked reindeer, a Finnish specialty.
In addition to cheese, the topping of the pizza is made with smoked reindeer meat, chanterelles and red onions. It is made on the principle of “no eggs”.
