Kourosh Ziabari

Kourosh Ziabari (born April 27, 1990 ) is an award-winning Iranian journalist, peace activist and correspondent. He received the "Superior Iranian Youth award" from Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadineschad . He also won first prize at the 18th Iranian Press Festival in the political articles category. Kourosh is a member of the World Student Community for Sustainable Development and is also a member of the European Association for Teaching of Academic Writing.

Career

Kourosh Ziabari started writing articles for local newspapers in northern Iran's Guilan Province when he was 8 years old. He also wrote articles on politics, society, culture and technology for Iran's leading national newspapers including Shargh, Hamshahri, Etemaad, Iran, Ham-Mihan and Jame-Jam.

Since 2008, Kourosh Ziabari has written for international newspapers, news websites and magazines. His articles, interviews and comments have been translated into several languages. He regularly serves Iran's leading English-language daily newspaper "Tehran Times" and the Iranian satellite TV channel " Press TV ".

Kourosh is the writer and Iranian affairs correspondent for the Oregon-based news website Salem News .

He is also a columnist for the Putin-friendly online magazine Veterans Today , a regular contributor to the Canadian Center for Research on Globalization , Russia's Strategic Culture Foundation , a Moscow think tank led by Yuri Profokiev) and for the online magazine Foreign Policy Journal .

Kourosh Ziabari conducted several first-hand interviews with world-renowned academics, journalists, political commentators and politicians, including Noam Chomsky , Peter Singer , Vicente Fox , Yvonne Ridley , Ruprecht Polenz , Robin Warren , Wolfgang Ketterle , Carlos Latuff , Alain de Botton , Erri De Luca , Gilad Atzmon and Douglas Osheroff .
