Kouvolan Kouvot is a Finnish basketball club from Kouvola . He has been the Finnish basketball champion four times.

history

The association was founded in 1964. After some teething problems, Kouvot was able to establish himself in the Korisliiga , the highest Finnish basketball league. In this one played 24 seasons so far (as of March 2018).

The 1990s were the most successful in the club's history. The club won the national championship in 1995 and 1999, and the cup in 1998. Immediately beforehand, they were runner-up twice.

After a short dry spell, the third championship was achieved in 2004.

In the 2015/2016 season, Kouvot was able to qualify for the play-offs with a third place , which was then won 4-1 in the final against Tampereen Pyrintö .

The club plays its home games in the Mansikka-ahon urheiluhalli .
