The Krüselin desert (name 1393 Truzelin , from 1422 Krüselin , after Kühnel = Sandort ) is a former church village from the German colonization of the 14th century.

location

The Krüselin desert is located about two kilometers northwest of the Krüselinsee in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

history

The village of Krüselin was first mentioned in 1393. Abandoned in 1440, it was rebuilt as a dairy in 1724 . In 1885 about 59 people lived in the village. From the beginning of the 20th century, Krüselin served as a district forester and also housed three forest workers' farms. On April 1, 1937, the place was incorporated into Mechow . At the end of the Second World War, the German Wehrmacht used the village as a hiding place from the Red Army. The place was destroyed again by fighting.

present

House foundations, an old well shaft made of rock masonry and a pond can still be seen today. On the village square there is a silver linden tree with a memorial stone for the son of the Knebüsch forestry family who fell shortly before Christmas 1915.
