Kracht (noble family)
Kracht is the name of an old noble family that probably comes from the former Archdiocese of Magdeburg .
history
The family was divided into two tribes as early as 1260, of which the Erzstiftig-Magdeburg tribe already died out in 1605, while the Brandenburg - Lausitz - East Prussian tribe continues to this day. The line that came to East Prussia with the Teutonic Order died out at the end of the 16th century. The Magdeburg tribe, formerly wealthy in Wanzleben , Wolmirstedt and Jericho , first appears in 1156–1165.
The Brandenburg-Lausitz-East Prussian tribe appears for the first time with Zabel von Kracht, who is documented between 1280 and 1295, initially as a ministerial of the Archbishopric of Magdeburg , then as miles fidelis (which means as much as loyal follower ) of the Margrave of Brandenburg in Luckenberg occurs. His great-grandson Heinze von Kracht became the first Brandenburg chancellor under the Hohenzollern family .
