The Bonanza power plant is a coal-fired power plant southeast of Vernal in the US state of Utah .
It consists of a single block with 500 MW , which was built 1980–1986 by the Deseret Power Electric Cooperative, a community of several municipal utilities. The power plant is a Foster-Wheeler - boiler equipped.
The coal comes from the Deserado Mine in northwest Colorado . It will be dismantled in civil engineering and transported to the power plant via the Deseret Power Railroad .
