The Los Coroneles power plant ( Spanish Central hidroeléctrica Los Coroneles ) is a hydroelectric power plant in the province of Mendoza , Argentina . It was originally called the Veinticinco de Mayo power plant (Spanish Central hidroeléctrica Veinticinco de Mayo ).
It is located about one kilometer southeast of the village of Villa Veinticinco de Mayo on a canal that branches off from the Río Diamante about two kilometers west of the power station . About 10 km west of the power plant is the El Tigre dam .
The power plant with an installed capacity of 6.64 MW was put into operation in 1970. The average annual production is 35 million kWh . The two Kaplan turbines each have a maximum output of 3.3 MW and the generators 4.15 MVA each . The rated speed of the turbines is 300 rpm. The fall height is 16 m. The flow rate is 37 m³ / s.
