The Moforsen power plant is a run-of-river power plant in the municipality of Sollefteå , Västernorrland , Sweden , which dams the Ångermanälven . It is the 13th power plant in the chain of 15 hydropower plants on Ångermanälven. Approx. The Forsmo power plant is located 15 km downstream .

The power plant was commissioned in 1968. It is owned by Uniper and operated by Uniper.

Barrier structure

The barrier structure consists of a concrete gravity dam on the right and a dam on the left side of the river. The weir system with the flood relief , consisting of 3 gates, is located in the middle.

The Moforsen power plant has three Kaplan turbines and an installed capacity of 135 MW . The average annual production is 641 million kWh . The fall height is 28.1 m.
