The Phú Mỹ power plant complex is a combination of several gas-fired power plants in Vietnam in the Bà Rịa-Vũng Tau province on the outskirts of the city of Phú Mỹ on the Thả Vải river . As of 2014, it is the largest power plant in Vietnam with a total installed capacity of 3895  MW and covers around 40% of the country's total electricity needs. The natural gas required for operation comes primarily from the Bạch Hổ and Nam Con Son oil fields in the South China Sea .

units

The power plant complex consists of several technically and economically independent and separate power plant units, which, in addition to the technical differences, have different owners and operators. The power plant units are referred to as Phú Mỹ 1 , Phú Mỹ 2-1 , Phú Mỹ 2-2 , Phú Mỹ 3 and Phú Mỹ 4 .

Phu Mỹ 1

The power plant unit consists of three uniform blocks and is designed as a gas and steam combined cycle power plant (combined cycle power plant) with a total output of 1090 MW. The owner and operator is Vietnam Electricity .

Phu Mỹ 2-1

The power plant unit is designed as a combined cycle power plant with an output of 900 MW. The owner and operator is Vietnam Electricity.

Phu Mỹ 2-2

The power plant unit is implemented as a combined cycle power plant and consists of two gas turbines and one steam turbine with a total output of 715 MW. The owner and operator is a consortium consisting of Électricité de France and Tepco .

Phu Mỹ 3

The power plant unit is implemented as a combined cycle power plant and consists of three gas turbines and two steam turbines with a total output of 740 MW. The owner and operator is TNK-BP .

Phu Mỹ 4
