The Pintrun power plant is a hydropower plant on the Flem , a left tributary of the Vorderrhein , below Trin Mulin .
Construction of the plant began in 1936 according to plans by the engineer Adolf von Salis from Flims . It was put into operation in 1944 on behalf of Holzverzuckerungs AG, which later became Ems-Chemie , so that the power supply to the factory could be secured. The reservoir has a capacity of around 50,000 m³, but the usable storage capacity is only 33,000 m².
Today the power plant belongs to Axpo Hydro Surselva AG .
